Caroline Holley

Caroline Holley is a botanical illustrator living and working in Sheffield. She is closely associated with Hangingwater Studio where she has exhibited in Sheffield Open Up from 2001 to 2006, and run classes in watercolour landscape painting, and still-life. Following a two year course for a Certificate in Botanical Illustration at the University of Sheffield (2001-2003) she has concentrated on flower portraits. Caroline paints in water colour, direct from life, using specimens from her garden, local parks, and the Peak District.

In January 2005 she was awarded a Gold Medal for botanical illustration from the Royal Horticultural Society, and in September 2007 had two paintings in the 12th International Exhibition for Botanical Art at the Hunt Institute, Pittsburgh, USA, and one of these was subsequently purchased for their collection.
